Abstract: Cloud computing promises to radically change the way computer applications and services are constructed, delivered, and managed. It is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. Thus, clouds promise to enable for their owners the benefits of an economy of scale and, at the same time, reduce the operating costs for many applications.
