Closed-loop supply chain design for the transition towards a circular economy: A systematic literature review of methods, applications and current gaps
135
TL;DR: Assessment of whether the current modelling approaches for CLSC problems can support the transition towards a Circular Economy at a supply chain level comprehensively assesses the extent to which existing modelling approaches evaluate the performance of supply chains across the complete spectrum of sustainability dimensions.

Circular economy-driven two-stage supply chain management for nullifying waste
TL;DR: In this article , the nullification of food-waste produced in the supply chain is discussed. But, the model is restricted to two-stage supply chain running parallelly and the deterioration of finished items is lifetime dependent and only applicable to the primary chain finished product.

A review of entrepreneurship and circular economy research: State of the art and future directions
TL;DR: In this article , the authors identified four thematic groups: growing circular SMEs, born circular firms and start-ups, social entrepreneurship in CE, and support ecosystem for circular entrepreneurship and proposed a future research agenda and a conceptual model for the entrepreneurial process in CE as a point of departure for further developing and deepening the literature on circular entrepreneurship.
Towards the Smart Circular Economy Paradigm: A Definition, Conceptualization, and Research Agenda
TL;DR: In this article , the smart circular economy paradigm is defined and a conceptual framework is provided, which systematizes the smart circle economy paradigm as an industrial system that uses digital technologies during the product life-cycle phases to implement circular strategies and practices aimed at value creation.
A location-inventory-routing problem to design a circular closed-loop supply chain network with carbon tax policy for achieving circular economy: An augmented epsilon-constraint approach
TL;DR: In this article , an integrated bi-objective mixed-integer linear programming model is developed with the aim of optimizing both operational and strategic decisions in a closed-loop supply chain network.

The role of reverse logistics in a circular economy for achieving sustainable development goals: a multiple case study of retail firms
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the role of reverse logistics in the circular economy through a multiple case study approach including 40 semi-structured interviews with reverse logistics specialists from the four largest retailing firms in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Supply chain design for unlocking the value of remanufacturing under uncertainty
TL;DR: A two-stage stochastic closed-loop supply chain design model that incorporates the uncertainties in the market size, the return volume as well as the quality of the returns, and explicitly represents the difference in customer valuations of the new and the remanufactured products is presented.

Closed-loop supply chains of reusable articles: a typology grounded on case studies
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore the scientific literature on reuse and propose a definition for reusable articles and a typology integrating different categories of articles (transportation items, packaging materials, tools) under the term "reusable articles".

A carbon footprint-based closed-loop supply chain model under uncertainty with risk analysis: A case study
Amir Mohajeri,Mohammad Fallah +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, an optimization model for a closed-loop supply chain (CLSC) in which carbon emission is expressed in terms of environmental constraints, i.e., carbon emission constraints, is developed.

Hybrid robust, stochastic and possibilistic programming for closed-loop supply chain network design
TL;DR: A novel Robust Stochastic-Possibilistic Programming (RSPP) are proposed to cope with uncertain parameters, based on the Me measure, to address gap in the area of Closed-loop Supply Chain Network Design under the hybrid uncertain conditions.

A Practical Approach to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Open Dumps through Infrastructure Restructuring: A Case Study in Nanjing City, China
TL;DR: In this paper, the feasibility of restructuring and the benefit of greenhouse gas emission reductions were assessed according to field surveys of five landfills and four dumps in Nanjing, and the results showed that the daily processing capacities of the existing open dumps have been unable to meet the growth of municipal solid waste (MSW), making restructuring of the open dumps imperative.
