Clinical applications of Scheimpflug imaging
11
TL;DR: An assessment of anterior chamber biometry for precataract surgery calculations and glaucoma screening, corneal topography of the anterior and posterior Corneal surfaces using elevation data for early detection of keratoconus and post-laser in situ keratomileusis ectasia, and integrity and density of the posterior capsule for posterior-capsule opacification grading using the currently commercially available Scheimpflug cameras are discussed.

Abstract: Since the Scheimpflug principle was first described more than a century ago, there has been great interest among ophthalmologists in the use of Scheimpflug cameras in anterior-segment imaging. Scheimpflug cameras have advanced significantly and modern-day instruments provide comprehensive imaging and topographic data of the anterior segment. The clinical applications and limitations of Scheimpflug imaging in corneal, cataract and refractive surgery patients are discussed. This article also covers an assessment of anterior chamber biometry for precataract surgery calculations and glaucoma screening, corneal topography of the anterior and posterior corneal surfaces using elevation data for early detection of keratoconus and post-laser in situ keratomileusis ectasia, lens changes with accommodation, lens transparency for cataract grading, and integrity and density of the posterior capsule for posterior-capsule opacification grading using the currently commercially available Scheimpflug cameras.

Verification of numerical algorithm for crystalline lens location in the eyeball basing on Purkinje images
TL;DR: The present work concerns the analysis of possible errors in the measurement of coordinates of particular Purkinje reflections that can causeerrors in the estimation of the relative displacement or tilting the lens or IOL inside the eyeball.

Gauging the difficulty of phacoemulsification: new grading systems
TL;DR: A number of grading systems have been proposed for cataract surgery as discussed by the authors, including the Lens Opacity Classification System (LOCS) III, the Scheimpflug imaging systems, a combi-nation of these, stray-light measurements and, lately, a system that integrated nine clinical parameters.

Tilted optics in 3D vision inspection systems — Case study
Xulei Yang,Chunyan Shao,Chi Zhang,Zaojun Fang,Guilin Yang,JiangJian Xiao +5 more
- 01 May 2018
TL;DR: Two schemes to tilt optics are proposed: one is achieved by tilting the lens, and the other by tilts the sensor, to get a better focus and better image quality for a practical stereo vision system.

TL;DR: Baseline age, vertical and horizontal cup-disc ratio, pattern standard deviation, and intraocular pressure were good predictors for the onset of POAG in the OHTS and central corneal thickness was found to be a powerful predictor for the development ofPOAG.

Risk factors and prognosis for corneal ectasia after LASIK
TL;DR: Retrospective review of preoperative and postoperative data for each case compared with that of previously reported cases and cases with uneventful postoperative courses found significant risk factors for the development of ectasia after LASIK include high myopia, forme fruste keratoconus, and low RSB.
