Climate Change 2007: The Physical Science Basis Summary for Policymakers:
Abstract: The Working Group I contribution to the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report describes progress in understanding of the
human and natural drivers of climate change1, observed climate change, climate processes and attribution, and
estimates of projected future climate change. It builds upon past IPCC assessments and incorporates new findings from the past six years of research. Scientific progress since the TAR is based upon large amounts of new and more
comprehensive data, more sophisticated analyses of data, improvements in understanding of processes and their
simulation in models, and more extensive exploration of uncertainty ranges.

Evaluating the non-stationarity of Australian annual maximum flood
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the Mann-Kendall (MK) test for nonstationarity of the most extensive annual maximum (AM) streamflow database compiled in Australia to date, comprising records from 491 small to medium sized catchments with record lengths from 30 to 97 years.

Distribution of near-surface permafrost in Alaska: Estimates of present and future conditions
Neal J. Pastick,M. Torre Jorgenson,Bruce K. Wylie,Shawn J. Nield,Kristofer D. Johnson,Andrew O. Finley +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors overcome complex interactions among surface and subsurface conditions to map near-surface permafrost through decision and regression tree approaches that statistically and spatially extend field observations using remotely sensed imagery, climatic data, and thematic maps of a wide range of surface and sub-surface biophysical characteristics.

Downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola) epidemics on grapevine under climate change
Salinari Francesca,Giosuè Simona,Tubiello Francesco Nicola,Rettori Andrea,Rossi Vittorio,Spanna Federico,Rosenzweig Cynthia,Gullino Maria Lodovica +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a disease model was used to simulate future scenarios of downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola) epidemics on grape under climate change, by combining the disease model to output from two general circulation models (GCMs).

Northward shift of the agricultural climate zone under 21st-century global climate change.
TL;DR: The leading edge of the feasible GDD will shift northwards up to 1200 km by 2099 while the altitudinal shift remains marginal, however, most of the newly gained areas are associated with highly seasonal and monthly variations in climatic water balances, a critical component of any future land-use and management decisions.
Governing Climate Adaptation in the Local Arena: Challenges of Risk Management and Planning in Sweden
TL;DR: In this article, conditions for climate adaptation as an important part of governing climate change in the local arena are addressed, and empirical focus is put on attempts to manage flood risks by means of risk management and planning in two Swedish municipalities.
