Mathematical simulation of a waste rock heap
TL;DR: In this paper, a computer model has been developed to simulate the generation of acidic drainage in waste rock piles, considering the kinetic rates of biological and chemical oxidation of sulfide minerals (pyrite, pyrrhotite) present as fines and rock particles, as well as chemical processes such as dissolution (kinetic or equilibrium controlled), complexation (from equilibrium and stoichiometry of several complexes), and precipitation (formation of complexes and secondary minerals).

Injectivity decline in ultra-filtered water flooding of high permeability sandstone reservoir
Ali Murtaza
- 01 Jan 2017
TL;DR: In this paper, spherical silica nanoparticles of 120 nm diameter were used as dispersed particles in the injected water to mimic ultra-filtered water, and a numerical model was presented to describe deep bed filtration taking into account observed retention mechanisms.
