TL;DR: A paired-comparison paradigm was utilized to determine the preferences of 20 young children for listening rate for prose speech, and it was indicated that the children most preferred a listening rate of 200 wpm and least preferred a rate of 100 wpm.

Discourse-Based Language Intervention: An Efficacy Study.
TL;DR: The authors examined the effect of supplementing the pragmatically-based procedure of focused stimulation with structured opportunities for verbal practice using vertical constructions and found that focused stimulation was an effective treatment procedure and the additional component of a vertical construction enhanced that effectiveness.
