Abstract: One embodiment of the present disclosure provides a caption adding method, a device, an electronic device and a computer readable storage medium, applied to the field of video processing technology, wherein the method comprises: extracting audio information from a video file in which a caption is to be added; the audio information is speech recognized to obtain the text information and the speechenvironment characteristics corresponding to the audio information, and then the corresponding caption information is generated according to the obtained text information and the speech environment characteristics, and then the caption information is added to the video file so that the video file carries the caption information when playing. The invention realizes automatic acquisition of text information corresponding to video, reduces the time of acquiring text information corresponding to video, and improves the efficiency of adding video caption information. In addition, the correspondingcaption information is generated according to the corresponding text information and the voice environment characteristics, that is, the corresponding caption display mode can be set based on the voice environment characteristics, thus realizing the personalized requirements of the caption.
