TL;DR: Somatic hybrids between the Brassicaceae species A. thaliana and B. nigra have been produced by fusion of intact A.Thaliana protoplasts with irradiated B. Nigra protoplast, and by PCR- and Southern-analysis the nearly symmetric character of two hybrid lines with an intermediate morphology, and the highly asymmetriccharacter of one line with a B. nigra morphology could be proven.
