Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Inflammation: Untangling Issues of Bidirectionality.
TL;DR: The longitudinal evidence related to PTSD and inflammation is assessed to understand more clearly the directionality and causal nature of this relation and several statistical and study design approaches are recommended that may help untangle issues of bidirectionality and aid in determining the direction of causality between PTSD andinflammation.

Peritraumatic distress: A review and synthesis of 15 years of research.
TL;DR: Peritraumatic distress is associated with PTSD symptom severity, other psychiatric symptoms, and severity of PTSD-related symptoms after exposure to non-Criterion A stressful events by DSM-5 criteria, suggesting that peritraumat distress is a risk factor for various psychiatric outcomes.
ADRB2-Targeting Therapies for Prostate Cancer
George Kulik,George Kulik +1 more
TL;DR: To select patients for clinical trials of propranolol three classes of biomarkers are proposed, including biomarkers of ADRB2/cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) pathway activation; second, biomarkers that inform about activation of other signaling pathways unrelated toADRB2; third, apoptosis regulatory molecules controlled by ADRB1 signaling and other survival signaling pathways.

No adjustments are needed for multiple comparisons.
TL;DR: A policy of not making adjustments for multiple comparisons is preferable because it will lead to fewer errors of interpretation when the data under evaluation are not random numbers but actual observations on nature.

Meta-analysis of risk factors for posttraumatic stress disorder in trauma-exposed adults.
TL;DR: The effect size of all the risk factors was modest, but factors operating during or after the trauma, such as trauma severity, lack of social support, and additional life stress, had somewhat stronger effects than pretrauma factors.
