Chemistry in Water Ices: From Fundamentals to Planetary Applications
Murthy S. Gudipati,Murthy S. Gudipati,Paul D. Cooper +2 more
- 01 Jan 2013
TL;DR: In this article, the role of radiation on the chemical evolution of solar system ices, including the newly discovered photoionization in ices is reviewed. But the present day understanding of the fundamental processes that occur in water-rich ices containing organic impurities is not discussed.

Ab Initio Study of Water Polarization in the Hydration Shell of Aqueous Hydroxide: Comparison between Polarizable and Nonpolarizable Water Models.
TL;DR: It is shown that the dipole fluctuations in the first hydration shell of hydroxide are reduced compared to bulk water, which can provide a rationale for the propensity ofhydroxide for interfaces with hydrophobes.
