Abstract: The invention relates to an application programming interface generation method, and belongs to the technical field of software development. The application programming interface generation method includes: acquiring a protocol document of an application programming interface API; acquiring parameter information included in the protocol document, and determining a function template of the API; andgenerating the API according to the parameter information and the function template. The method sets the function template of the API in advance; during development of the API, a developer only inputs the protocol document of the API, and software development tool can automatically acquire the parameter information of the API and automatically generate the API according to the parameter information and the function template of the API; the situation that the developer compiles codes of the API manually can be avoided, the labor cost of API development can be greatly reduced, the development time is shortened, and the software development efficiency is improved.
