TL;DR: The acquisition of antimicrobial resistance genes by ESKAPE pathogens has reduced the treatment options for serious infections, increased the burden of disease, and increased death rates due to treatment failure and requires a coordinated global response for antim antibiotic resistance surveillance.

Abstract: Antimicrobial-resistant ESKAPE ( Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterobacter species) pathogens represent a global threat to human health. The acquisition of antimicrobial resistance genes by ESKAPE pathogens has reduced the treatment options for serious infections, increased the burden of disease, and increased death rates due to treatment failure and requires a coordinated global response for antimicrobial resistance surveillance. This looming health threat has restimulated interest in the development of new antimicrobial therapies, has demanded the need for better patient care, and has facilitated heightened governance over stewardship practices.

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Trends Among Gram-Negative Bacilli Causing Bloodstream Infections: Results from the China Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Trial (CARST) Program, 2011–2020
TL;DR: Carbapenems are still effective against gram-negative bacilli causing BSIs, except for A. baumannii, which should be given to more attention, considering its high resistance against different classes of antimicrobials.

TL;DR: Targeted interventions and vigilant management strategies are crucial for patients with defined risk factors and while infectious disease consultants tended to favor combination therapy, particularly for drug-resistant strains, analysis revealed no significant impact on 30-day mortality hazard.

Lead derivatization of ethyl 6-bromo-2-((dimethylamino)methyl)-5-hydroxy-1-phenyl-1H-indole-3-carboxylate and 5-bromo-2-(thiophene-2-carboxamido) benzoic acid as FabG inhibitors targeting ESKAPE pathogens
TL;DR: In this article, the authors focused on lead expansion of these two hit molecules which ended up with forty-three analogues (nineteen-nine analogues from lead compound A and fourteen compounds from lead compounds B).
