Effective Mutual Coupling Compensation for Direction-of-Arrival Estimations using a New, Accurate Determination Method for the Receiving Mutual Impedance
Hoi-Shun Lui,H. T. Hui +1 more
TL;DR: A new, accurate method is introduced to determine the receiving mutual impedances of antenna arrays with closely spaced omni-directional antenna elements to improve direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimations.

Spatial optical beam-forming network for receiving-mode multibeam array antenna - proposal and experiment
TL;DR: In this article, an array antenna for multibeam reception with a beamforming network (BFN) that uses spatial optical signal processing was proposed, where signals received at individual antenna elements are converted to optical signals, and are optically divided from the directions of signal arrival by optical spatial Fourier transformation, and then the optical signals are reconverted into microwave signals at the BFN.

Gaussian beam techniques for illuminating reflector antennas
N.J. McEwan,P.F. Goldsmith +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, simple design procedures for use when a Gaussian beam is used to illuminate a classical reflector antenna are presented for the case of electrically small antennas where the aperture is in the near field of the feed.

Multistatic Geosynchronous SAR Resolution Analysis and Grating Lobe Suppression Based on Array Spatial Ambiguity Function
TL;DR: An analytical analysis method is proposed for the multistatic GEO SAR GAF-based on the array spatial ambiguity function (ASAF), and an orbital element design method that considers the Earth’s rotation is proposed.

RFID-based location-sensing system for safety management
Kwangsoo Kim,Myungsik Kim +1 more
- 01 Mar 2012
TL;DR: Improved circular polarization antennas are developed, which are highly effective for reducing an error in the distance estimation by transceiving RF signals with less dependance on its orientation and a three-dimensional location-sensing algorithm that facilitates a distance and position filter is developed for enhancing accuracy.
