TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a supervised classification of Tissue Samples and linked the supervised classification with survival analysis, and showed that the classification of tissue samples is more accurate than that of microarray data.

K-fold cross validation performance comparisons of six naive portfolio selection rules: how naive can you be and still have successful out-of-sample portfolio performance?
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compare the out-of-sample performance of the equal-weight naive strategy to five alternative naive strategies, each of which derives from a simple heuristic that does not require any optimization.

Testing a better method of predicting postsurgery soft tissue response in Class II patients: A prospective study and validity assessment
TL;DR: After conducting a prospective study using a new data set to test the validity of a new soft tissue prediction method developed for Class II surgery patients, this new prediction method again performed well and a cross- validation technique may be considered a better option than simple validation when constructing a prediction algorithm.
Machine learning-aided exploration of relationship between strength and elastic properties in ascending thoracic aneurysm.
TL;DR: The study suggests that the strength, which is not available without rupturing the tissue, may be indirectly inferred from prerupture response features, as well as with the end stiffness.

Opaque service virtualisation: a practical tool for emulating endpoint systems
Steve Versteeg,Miao Du,Jean-Guy Schneider,John Grundy,Jun Han,Menka Goyal +5 more
- 14 May 2016
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a technique that improves the accuracy of record-and-replay approaches, without requiring prior knowledge of the service protocols, by using multiple sequence alignment to derive message prototypes from recorded system interactions and a scheme to match incoming request messages against prototypes to generate response messages.

cDNA microarray adaptive segmentation
Zidong Wang,Zidong Wang,Bachar Zineddin,Jinling Liang,Jinling Liang,Nianyin Zeng,Yurong Li,Min Du,Jie Cao,Xiaohui Liu,Xiaohui Liu +10 more
TL;DR: A novel segmentation algorithm based on the Cellular Neural Network computational paradigm integrated with median and anisotropic diffusion filters is developed and it is shown that analogic algorithm integrated with Complex Diffusion filter is the best one to be applied to accomplish the segmentation.
