TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a supervised classification of Tissue Samples and linked the supervised classification with survival analysis, and showed that the classification of tissue samples is more accurate than that of microarray data.

Improved variance estimation of classification performance via reduction of bias caused by small sample size
TL;DR: It is shown that via modeling and subsequent reduction of the small sample bias, it is possible to obtain an improved estimate of the variance of classifier performance between design sets, and an exact analytical expression is presented for how the expected value of the bias decreases with the size of the test set.
SelectStitch: Automated Frame Segmentation and Stitching to Create Composite Images from Otoscope Video Clips
Hamidullah Binol,Aaron C. Moberly,Muhammad Khalid Khan Niazi,Garth F. Essig,Jay Shah,Charles A. Elmaraghy,Theodoros N. Teknos,Nazhat Taj-Schaal,Lianbo Yu,Metin N. Gurcan +9 more
TL;DR: An automated image segmentation-based frame selection and stitching framework to create enhanced composite images from otoscope videos, called SelectStitch, which is useful for classifying eardrum abnormalities using a single composite image instead of the entire raw otoscope video dataset.
A Smart Image-Based Cloud Detection System for Intrahour Solar Irradiance Forecasts
Yinghao Chu,Hugo T.C. Pedro,Lukas Nonnenmacher,Rich H. Inman,Zhouyi Liao,Carlos F.M. Coimbra +5 more
TL;DR: An automatic smart adaptive cloud identification (SACI) system for sky imagery and solar irradiance forecast is proposed using off-the-shelf fish-eye cameras that offer substantial advantages in terms of cost when compared to industry-standard sky imagers.
Latent class analysis of loneliness and connectedness in US young adults during COVID‐19
TL;DR: In this article , the authors performed a Latent Class Analysis using items from two scales (the UCLA Loneliness Scale and the Social Connectedness Scale) to characterize different experiences of loneliness and connectedness, examine their relationship with mental health and substance use symptoms, including depression, anxiety, drinking, and drug use.
Exploratory factor analysis-Parameter estimation and scores prediction with high-dimensional data
Rolf Sundberg,Uwe Feldmann +1 more
TL;DR: An approach aiming at high-dimensional situations, a distribution-free approach to parameter estimation in the standard random factor model is introduced, that is shown to lead to the same estimating equations as maximum likelihood estimation under normality.
