Abstract: EDDINGTON'S “Internal Constitution of the Stars” was published in 1926 and gives what now ranks as a classical account of his own researches and of the general state of the theory at that time. Since then, a tremendous amount of work has appeared. Much of it has to do with the construction of stellar models with different equations of state applying in different zones. Other parts deal with the effects of varying chemical composition, with pulsation and tidal and rotational distortion of stars, and with the precise relations between the interior and the atmosphere of a star. The striking feature of all this work is that so much can be done without assuming any particular mechanism of stellar energy-generation. Only such very comprehensive assumptions are made about the distribution and behaviour of the energy sources that we may expect future knowledge of their mechanism to lead mainly to more detailed results within the framework of the existing general theory. Smoothed particle hydrodynamics
TL;DR: In this article, the theory and application of Smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) since its inception in 1977 are discussed, focusing on the strengths and weaknesses, the analogy with particle dynamics and the numerous areas where SPH has been successfully applied.

Equation of state of nucleon matter and neutron star structure
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the properties of dense nucleon matter and the structure of neutron stars using variational chain summation methods and the new Argonne two-nucleon interaction, which provides an excellent fit to all of the nucleon-Nucleon scattering data in the Nijmegen database.

Thermodynamic variables of microquasars inferred from tachyonic spectral maps
TL;DR: In this article, the superluminal spectral maps are obtained from BATSE, COMPTEL, EGRET, HESS, and MAGIC data sets and the spectral averaging is done with exponentially cut power-law densities.
On approximate solutions to the Neumann elliptic boundary value problem with non-linearity of exponential type
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the existence of weak solutions to one class of Neumann boundary value problems (BVP) for non-linear elliptic equations, and derive the optimality conditions for the perturbed OCPs, the uniqueness of their solutions, and the asymptotic properties of optimal pairs as the perturbation parameter.

A cosmological model describing the early inflation, the intermediate decelerating expansion, and the late accelerating expansion by a quadratic equation of state
TL;DR: In this article, a cosmological model based on a quadratic equation of state p/c^2=-(\alpha+1), where p is the Planck density and ε is the cosmology density, was developed to unify vacuum energy and dark energy in the spirit of a generalized Chaplygin gas model.

- 29 Dec 2016
TL;DR: In this article, the generalized fractional order of the Chebyshev orthogonal functions (GFCFs) of the first kind have been introduced as a new basis for Spectral methods, and also presented an effective numerical method based on the GFCFs and the collocation method for solving the nonlinear singular Lane-Emden type equations of various orders.
