Abstract: EDDINGTON'S “Internal Constitution of the Stars” was published in 1926 and gives what now ranks as a classical account of his own researches and of the general state of the theory at that time. Since then, a tremendous amount of work has appeared. Much of it has to do with the construction of stellar models with different equations of state applying in different zones. Other parts deal with the effects of varying chemical composition, with pulsation and tidal and rotational distortion of stars, and with the precise relations between the interior and the atmosphere of a star. The striking feature of all this work is that so much can be done without assuming any particular mechanism of stellar energy-generation. Only such very comprehensive assumptions are made about the distribution and behaviour of the energy sources that we may expect future knowledge of their mechanism to lead mainly to more detailed results within the framework of the existing general theory. A Thermodynamic History of the Solar Constitution - II: The Theory of a Gaseous Sun and Jeans’ Failed Liquid Alternative
TL;DR: In this paper, the development of solar theory is followed from the concept that the Sun was an ethereal nuclear body with a partially condensed photosphere to the creation of a fully gaseous object.
The solution of Jacobi's virial equation for celestial bodies
TL;DR: In this paper, a relationship between the potential energy and the moment of the inertia for celestial bodies is discovered, which consists in the constancy of the product of formfactors for the energy and inertia.

On the Dynamics and Tidal Dissipation Rate of the White Dwarf in 4U 1820-30
Snezana Prodan,Norman Murray +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the period of libration is of order 170 days when the mutual inclination is near the Kozai critical value, and that this long period motion arises if the system is librating around the stable fixed point in a Kozai resonance.

Measure of complexity in self-gravitating systems using structure scalars
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the definition of complexity for static self-gravitating anisotropic matter proposed in f (G, T ) theory, where G is the Gauss-Bonnet term and T is the trace of energy momentum tensor.

Vertical dissipation profiles and the photosphere location in thin and slim accretion disks
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the photosphere location in the inner, radiation pressure dominated, disk region does not depend on the vertical dissipation profile and therefore emerging disk spectra are insensitive to the choice of the dissipation function.

Smoothed particle hydrodynamics
TL;DR: In this article, the theory and application of Smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) since its inception in 1977 are discussed, focusing on the strengths and weaknesses, the analogy with particle dynamics and the numerous areas where SPH has been successfully applied.

Theory of Star Formation
TL;DR: In this paper, an overall theoretical framework and the observations that motivate it are outlined, outlining the key dynamical processes involved in star formation, including turbulence, magnetic fields, and self-gravity.
Equation of state of nucleon matter and neutron star structure
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the properties of dense nucleon matter and the structure of neutron stars using variational chain summation methods and the new Argonne two-nucleon interaction, which provides an excellent fit to all of the nucleon-Nucleon scattering data in the Nijmegen database.
