An improved method of DNA isolation suitable for PCR-based detection of begomoviruses from jute and other mucilaginous plants.
69
TL;DR: The modification including use of more volume of extraction buffer and dissolving crude nucleic acid pellet in 1 M NaCl, reduced markedly the viscosity of the mucilage and thus in the final purification step yielded a larger quantity of mucilage-free DNA suitable for subsequent PCR-based detection of begomoviruses.

Differential transcriptional activity of SAD, FAD2 and FAD3 desaturase genes in developing seeds of linseed contributes to varietal variation in α-linolenic acid content.
Ashwini V. Rajwade,Narendra Y. Kadoo,Sanjay P. Borikar,Abhay Harsulkar,P. B. Ghorpade,Vidya S. Gupta +5 more
TL;DR: It is observed that variation in the amino acid (AA) sequences of desaturases was not responsible for differential ALA accumulation, except in the mutant variety TL23 with very low (<2%) ALA content.

Molecular cloning of coat protein gene of an Indian cotton leaf curl virus (CLCuV-HS2) isolate and its phylogenetic relationship with others members of Geminiviridae.
TL;DR: The complete nucleotide sequence of the Indian isolate of cotton leaf curl geminivirus (CLCuV-HS2) coat protein (CP) gene component was determined using CP specific primers through PCR amplification from field infected cotton plants growing in Haryana, India.
Functional properties of okra (Hibiscus esculentus) mucilage
TL;DR: In this paper, a mixture of mucilage isolated from immature okra pods, although not soluble in water and various salt solutions, was easily solubilized (about 80%) in aqueous sodium borohydride solution.
