TL;DR: In this paper, a field study was conducted to test the effects of background music of different pleasure intensity (low and high) on store evaluation and explore the underlying psychological mechanisms, finding that the attitude towards the servicescape, influenced by pleasure intensity, in turn affected store evaluation both directly and indirectly via its positive effect on attitude toward the sales personnel and a strengthening of the relationship between attitude towards service providers and store evaluation.
