TL;DR: An automated labeling system for subdividing the human cerebral cortex into standard gyral-based neuroanatomical regions is both anatomically valid and reliable and may be useful for both morphometric and functional studies of the cerebral cortex.

Functional Alignment with Anatomical Networks is Associated with Cognitive Flexibility
John D. Medaglia,Weiyu Huang,Elisabeth A. Karuza,Sharon L. Thompson-Schill,Alejandro Ribeiro,Danielle S. Bassett +5 more
TL;DR: It is found that the alignment between functional signals and the architecture of the underlying white matter network was associated with greater cognitive flexibility across subjects, uncovering an integrated structure–function relation of human behaviour.

AddNeuroMed and ADNI: Similar patterns of Alzheimer's atrophy and automated MRI classification accuracy in Europe and North America
Eric Westman,Andrew Simmons,J-Sebastian Muehlboeck,Patrizia Mecocci,Bruno Vellas,Magda Tsolaki,Iwona Kłoszewska,Hilkka Soininen,Michael W. Weiner,Simon Lovestone,Christian Spenger,Lars-Olof Wahlund +11 more
TL;DR: The AddNeuroMed, the ADNI and the combined cohort showed similar patterns of atrophy and the predictive power was similar, and showed potential in predicting conversion from MCI to AD, demonstrating that the methods used are robust and that large data sets can be combined if MRI imaging protocols are carefully aligned.

Sperling,Reisa A. Sperling,Sudha Seshadri,Sudha Seshadri,Jean C. Augustinack,Julie C. Price,Keith A. Johnson +28 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors detected initial cortical emergence of tauopathy near the rhinal sulcus in clinically normal people and tracked Aβ-associated spread of TAU from this site first to nearby neocortex of the temporal lobe and then to extratemporal regions.

Optimal referencing for stereo-electroencephalographic (SEEG) recordings.
Guangye Li,Guangye Li,Shize Jiang,Sivylla E. Paraskevopoulou,Meng Wang,Yang Xu,Zehan Wu,Liang Chen,Dingguo Zhang,Gerwin Schalk,Gerwin Schalk,Gerwin Schalk +11 more
TL;DR: The results from three different signal quality metrics suggest the use of the Laplacian re‐reference for study of local population‐level activity and low‐frequency oscillatory activity.

Age-Related Differences in Cortical Thickness Vary by Socioeconomic Status.
TL;DR: It is suggested that SES may moderate patterns of age-related cortical thinning, especially in language- and literacy-supporting cortical regions, as indexed by family income and parental education.

An introduction to the bootstrap
Bradley Efron,Robert Tibshirani +1 more
- 01 Jan 1993
TL;DR: This article presents bootstrap methods for estimation, using simple arguments, with Minitab macros for implementing these methods, as well as some examples of how these methods could be used for estimation purposes.
Automated Anatomical Labeling of Activations in SPM Using a Macroscopic Anatomical Parcellation of the MNI MRI Single-Subject Brain
Nathalie Tzourio-Mazoyer,B. Landeau,D. Papathanassiou,Fabrice Crivello,Octave Etard,Nicolas Delcroix,Bernard Mazoyer,Marc Joliot +7 more
TL;DR: An anatomical parcellation of the spatially normalized single-subject high-resolution T1 volume provided by the Montreal Neurological Institute was performed and it is believed that this tool is an improvement for the macroscopical labeling of activated area compared to labeling assessed using the Talairach atlas brain.
