An accessibility-based integrated measure of relative spatial equity in urban public facilities
TL;DR: In this article, integrated equity indices with which planners can analyze the relative equity status of facility distributions are presented, integrating GIS and spatial analysis models, and results show it allows users to understand the characteristics of spatial equity both for disaggregated and aggregated levels, and it demonstrates significant differences between urban public facilities.

Planning emergency shelter locations based on evacuation behavior
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a framework for the use in a developed catchment to determine where to locate safe and convenient emergency shelters based on evacuation behavior, using space syntax and road-closure indices based on mobility-based evacuation to produce a safety and mobility of the road-network index using geographic information systems.

Jürgen Breuste,Akbar Rahimi +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the accessibility of urban parks as related to the social status of the inhabitants in a clearly socially stratified city (Tabriz, Iran), in which a part of the urban society has better or worse access to urban parks.
