Fundamentals and advances in magnesium alloy corrosion
Mohsen Esmaily,Jan-Erik Svensson,S. Fajardo,S. Fajardo,Nick Birbilis,Gerald S. Frankel,Sannakaisa Virtanen,Raul Arrabal,Sebastian Thomas,Lars-Gunnar Johansson +9 more
TL;DR: There remains growing interest in magnesium (Mg) and its alloys, as they are the lightest structural metallic materials Mg alloys have the potential to enable design of lighter engineered systems, including positive implications for reduced energy consumption as mentioned in this paper.

On the nature of surface roughness with application to contact mechanics, sealing, rubber friction and adhesion.
Bo N. J. Persson,O. Albohr,U. Tartaglino,U. Tartaglino,A. I. Volokitin,Erio Tosatti,Erio Tosatti,Erio Tosatti +7 more
TL;DR: This work presents surface roughness power spectra of many surfaces of practical importance, obtained from the surface height profile measured using optical methods and the atomic force microscope, and shows how the power spectrum determines the contact area between two solids.
Calcium Phosphate Bioceramics: A Review of Their History, Structure, Properties, Coating Technologies and Biomedical Applications.
Noam Eliaz,Noah Metoki +1 more
TL;DR: A wide variety of CaPs are presented, from the individual phases to nano-CaP, biphasic and triphasic CaP formulations, composite CaP coatings and cements, functionally graded materials (FGMs), and antibacterial CaPs.

Fault damage zones
TL;DR: In this article, the authors use a geometric classification of damage zones into tip-, wall-, and linking-damage zones, based on their location around faults, which can be sub-divided in terms of fault and fracture patterns within the damage zone.

Potential Applications of Native Cyanobacterium Isolate (Arthrospira platensis NIOF17/003) for Biodiesel Production and Utilization of Its Byproduct in Marine Rotifer (Brachionus plicatilis) Production
M. A. Zaki,Mohamed Ashour,Ahmed M. M. Heneash,Mohamed M. Mabrouk,Ahmed E. Alprol,Hanan M. Khairy,A. M. Nour,Abdallah Tageldein Mansour,Hesham Abdallah Hassanien,Ahmed Gaber,Mostafa E. Elshobary +10 more
TL;DR: The current study concluded that the new isolate A. platensis NIOF17/003 is a promising strain for double sustainable use in biodiesel production and aquaculture feed and applying algal-free lipid (FL) as biodiesel byproduct in the production of rotifer revealed that a 0.6 g L−1 FL significantly increased the rotifer population females carrying eggs, confirming that FL can be used efficiently for B. plicatilis production.

Influence of humidity on the initial emittable concentration of formaldehyde and hexaldehyde in building materials: experimental observation and correlation.
TL;DR: Experimental results indicate that Cm,0 is dramatically dependent on AH, increased by 10 and 2 times for formaldehyde and hexaldehyde when AH rising from 4.6–19.6 g/m3 at 25 °C, and a correlation characterizing the association of emission rate and AH is derived.
