1. Who supported the research team during interviews?
The research team was supported by Tchernavia Montgomery, Holly Kaster, Damaris Wright, and Lanetta Williams, who allowed interviews at their worksites. Fernanda Barros dos Santos, Paulo Victor Pacheco, Dalila Negreiros, and Sales Santos aided with transcriptions. Michel Chagas and Ecyla Borges shared their home in Salvador. The women who participated in the study and the funding sources, including the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Research Grant Initiative and UWM's Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, also provided support. The U.S. Network for Democracy in Brazil and the Washington Brazil Office, along with colleagues James Green, Dalila Negreiros, Anielle Franco, Marcelle Decothe, Douglas Belchior, Kia Caldwell, Sharelle Barber, Gregory 'Duff' Morton, Sidney Chaloub, Juliana Moraes, Iman Musa, Natalia Campos, Myriam Marques, and Paulo Abrao, were committed to democracy and marginalized communities in Brazil.
