I am also thankful to my colleagues from the STEER research project, including Ines Dombrowsky, Andrea Lenschow, Claudia Pahl-Wostl, and Christian Knieper. My PhD colleagues Evelyn Lukat, Franziska Meergans, and Mirja Schoderer were instrumental in discussions on my project. Elisa Kochskamper, Jens Newig, Sergio Villamayor-Tomas, Tobias Plieninger, and Andrea Lenschow also played significant roles. I am grateful to Pilar Paneque, Jesus Vargas, Leandro Del Moral, and Ramiro Martinez for their support during my fieldwork in Spain. My colleagues at the University of Kassel, including Arvind Lakshmisha, Ariane Gotz, Soren Kopke, and Christian Schleyer, provided scientific and moral support. My friends Johanna, Lisa, Barbara, Alena, Annika, Lara, May-Britt, Paula, Baltasar, Fabian, Felix, Susanne, my grandmother, and parents also supported me throughout the process. Lastly, I express my gratitude to my parents for sparking my interest in combining legal and policy-related questions with environmental planning.
