Celles-ci incluent, entre autres, les conceptions et représentations de l’abandon, les façons dont la famille, la communauté et l’état abandonnent êtres, objets, et lieux, ainsi que les processus de pouvoir et de différentiation sociale qui rendent l’abandon possible, normalisé, et parfois nécessaire, voire un moteur, aux systèmes économiques et de gouvernance contemporains.
