1. What are the contributions mentioned in the paper "A visual digital library approach for time-oriented scientific primary data" ?
Scientific data, as produced for example, by sciThis paper is a substantially revised and extended version of a paper with the same title originally appeared in the Proceedings of the 14th European Conference on Digital Libraries ( ECDL 2010 ).. In this article the authors report on a concept and first implementation of Digital Library functionality for supporting visual retrieval and exploration in a specific important class of scientific primary data, namely, timeoriented research data.. In addition to presenting the concept and to discussing relevant challenges, the authors present results from a first implementation of their approach as applied on a real-world scientific primary data set.. The authors also report from initial user feedback obtained during discussions with domain experts from the earth observation sciences, indicating the usefulness of their approach.

2. What are the future works in "A visual digital library approach for time-oriented scientific primary data" ?
Options for future work and a user-in-the-loop development model were presented.. Rainer Sieger and Hannes Grobe helped us in developing an initial understanding of the data domain, and in selecting an appropriate PANGAEA data subset to experiment with.. During this workshop, numerous AWI researchers provided helpful comments and suggestions for research and development in their effort.. The authors thank the reviewers of the initial ECDL2010 submission for their helpful comments and suggestions.
