Constraining High-redshift Stellar-mass Primordial Black Holes with Next-generation Ground-based Gravitational-wave Detectors
TL;DR: In this article , the authors simulate four months' worth of data observed by a CE-ET detector network and perform hierarchical Bayesian analysis to recover the merger rate densities of primordial black holes.
Substrate-transferred GaAs/AlGaAs crystalline coatings for gravitational-wave detectors
Garrett D. Cole,S. W. Ballmer,G. Billingsley,Seth B. Cataño-Lopez,Martin M. Fejer,Peter Fritschel,E. M. Gretarsson,Gregory M. Harry,Dhruv Kedar,Thomas Legero,Christopher Makarem,S. Penn,D. H. Reitze,Jessica Steinlechner,Uwe Sterr,S. Tanioka,Gar-Wing Truong,Junjun Ye,J. Yu +18 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors summarize the status of technological development for large-area and low-noise substrate-transferred GaAs/AlGaAs crystalline coatings for interferometric gravitational-wave (GW) detectors.
Gravitational Wave Bursts from Cusps and Kinks on Cosmic Strings
Thibault Damour,Alexander Vilenkin +1 more
- 01 Apr 2001
TL;DR: In this article, the strong beams of high-frequency gravitational waves (GW's) emitted by cusps and kinks of cosmic strings are studied in detail, and it is shown that the GW's generated by a cosmological network of oscillating loops is strongly non-Gaussian, and includes occasional sharp bursts that stand above the ''confusion'' GW noise made of many smaller overlapping bursts.
A Hubble constant measurement from superluminal motion of the jet in GW170817
Kenta Hotokezaka,Ehud Nakar,Ore Gottlieb,Samaya Nissanke,Samaya Nissanke,Kento Masuda,Gregg Hallinan,Kunal Mooley,Kunal Mooley,Adam T. Deller +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the degeneracy in the GW signal between the source distance and the observing angle dominated the H0 measurement uncertainty, leading to an improved measurement of 70.3.3
Induced gravitational wave background and primordial black holes
Edgar Bugaev,Peter Klimai +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the frequency dependence of the gravitational wave background arising at second order of cosmological perturbation theory due to mixing of tensor and scalar modes was calculated.
