Abstract: Within the VIRGO experiment we are developing a simulation program providing an accurate description of the interferometric antenna behaviour, taking into account all sources of noise. Besides its future use as a tool for data analysis and for the commissioning of the apparatus, the simulation helps finalizing the design of the detector. Emphasis is put at the present time on the study of the stability of optical components implied in the global feedback control system of the interferometer.

Signal-separation technique for a power-recycled interferometric gravitational wave detector
TL;DR: In this paper, a power-recycled interferometer is used to extract well-separated signals, which would simplify the design and operation of an inter-ferometer.

Ground-Based Interferometric Detectors of Gravitational Waves

- 01 Jan 1999
TL;DR: Vishu used to whistle with some sort of happiness while simultaneously flipping the three joined-up middle fingers of his right hand and moving the same hand in air to explain to me the physics behind such a solution representing a wave as discussed by the authors.
Longitudinal control of an interferometer for the detection of gravitational waves
Raffaele Flaminio,H. Heitmann +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed two schemes based on phase modulation of the incident laser beam to give error signals for all necessary degrees of freedom for interferometric VIRGO and LIGO detectors.
Design of Temperature Fluctuation Test Platform Based on Radiation Heat Transfer

- 01 Jan 2019
TL;DR: In this paper, a method to simulate the temperature fluctuation was put forward, and the feasibility of this method was verified numerically, which provided a reliable theoretical support for the time-varying temperature control system.
