Abstract: Emotion recognition based on physiological signals has been a hot topic and applied in many areas such as safe driving, health care and social security. In this paper, we present a comprehensive review on physiological signal-based emotion recognition, including emotion models, emotion elicitation methods, the published emotional physiological datasets, features, classifiers, and the whole framework for emotion recognition based on the physiological signals. A summary and comparation among the recent studies has been conducted, which reveals the current existing problems and the future work has been discussed.

SFE-Net: EEG-based Emotion Recognition with Symmetrical Spatial Feature Extraction
TL;DR: In this paper, a spatial folding ensemble network (SFE-Net) is presented for EEG feature extraction and emotion recognition, which can extract the information of space features of EEG signals more effectively.
Inter and Intra Signal Variance in Feature Extraction and Classification of Affective State
Zachary Dair,Samantha Dockray,Ruairi O'Reilly +2 more
- 06 Jul 2022
TL;DR: In this article , the authors evaluated the impact of signal variances acquired from wearables and their associated impact on the classification of affective states by assessing differences occurring in features representative of affectives states extracted from electrocardiograms and photoplethysmography.

From Intended to Subjective: A Conditional Tensor Fusion Network for Recognizing Self-Reported Emotion Using Physiology
Hao-Chun Yang,Chi-Chun Lee +1 more
- 07 Dec 2020
TL;DR: This article proposed a conditional tensor fusion network in which the stimulation's emotion type is firstly learned, then this learned intended annotation would then act as an explicit conditional regularization toward the final subjective emotion labeling.
Emotional Diagnosis for Employees Within the Framework of Industry 4.0: A Case Study in Ciudad Juarez
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors present a case of an emotional detection implementation in an operational environment too as a theoretical background for such executions, which aims to show an approach toward the general trends and tools for biological diagnostics in industrial settings and capacities and emphasizes the capabilities and reliability states of smart diagnostics.

Nearest neighbor pattern classification
Thomas M. Cover,Peter E. Hart +1 more
TL;DR: The nearest neighbor decision rule assigns to an unclassified sample point the classification of the nearest of a set of previously classified points, so it may be said that half the classification information in an infinite sample set is contained in the nearest neighbor.
An argument for basic emotions
TL;DR: This work has shown that not only the intensity of an emotion but also its direction may vary greatly both in the amygdala and in the brain during the course of emotion regulation.
