A middleware framework for scalable management of linked streams
131
TL;DR: The Linked Stream Middleware is described, which makes it easy to integrate time-dependent data with other Linked Data sources, by enriching both sensor sources and sensor data streams with semantic descriptions, and enabling complex SPARQL-like queries across both dataset types through a novel query processing engine, along with means to mashup the data and process results.

Knowledge discovery and sharing in the IoT: the physical semantic web vision
Michele Ruta,Floriano Scioscia,Saverio Ieva,Giuseppe Loseto,Filippo Gramegna,Agnese Pinto +5 more
- 03 Apr 2017
TL;DR: A general frame-work for the Physical Semantic Web is presented based on machine-understandable descriptions of physical resources and novel logic-guided resource discovery capabilities, to enable more powerful expressiveness in human-things and things-things interactions.

Context-Driven and Real-Time Provisioning of Data-Centric IoT Services in the Cloud
TL;DR: The main idea behind the proposed framework is to structure the description of data-centric IoT services and their real-time and historical data in a hierarchical form in accordance with the end-user application’s context model.

An open building information modelling based co-simulation architecture to model building energy and environmental life cycle assessment: A case study on two buildings in the United Kingdom and Luxembourg
TL;DR: In this paper , a dynamic, open building information modelling based co-simulation architecture is proposed to integrate building energy simulation and life cycle assessment. But the architecture is not designed for the use of energy and life-cycle assessments.

Data integration approach for semi-structured and structured data (Linked Data)
Mohamed Salah Kettouch,Cristina Luca,Mike Hobbs,Arooj Fatima +3 more
- 22 Jul 2015
TL;DR: The authors propose a new architecture to integrate, using a mediator and centralised global schema, semi structured heterogeneous sources with large scale of structured data sources, particularly Linked Open Data cloud, and provide a search interface for non-expert users to searching and to accessing to them.

Capturing the contributions of the semantic web to the IoT: a unifying vision
Nicolas Seydoux,Khalil Drira,Nathalie Hernandez,Thierry Monteil +3 more
- 21 Oct 2017
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose an architectural pattern, Lower, Middle and Upper Node (LMU-N), to unify the presented state-of-the-art architectures, and provide a reading grid used to classify processes to which the Semantic Web of Things community contributes.

Semantic Sensor Web
TL;DR: In this paper, the semantic sensor web (SSW) proposes that sensor data be annotated with semantic metadata that will both increase interoperability and provide contextual information essential for situational knowledge.
