TL;DR: The avoidance behaviour elicited from four species of freshwater pulmonate snails following contact with a molluscivorous leech, Hebbdella conifera (Glossiphoniidae), was examined experimentally and results are interpreted with reference to the mode of leech attack and to differences in snail morphology.
