Vector calculus and Maxwell’s equations: logic errors in mathematics and electrodynamics
TL;DR: In this paper, a critical analysis of the foundations of vector calculus and classical electrodynamics is proposed, and the analysis is based on the unity of formal logic and rational dialectics.
Reformulation of Electromagnetism with Differential Forms
Masao Kitano
- 23 Mar 2012
TL;DR: In some textbooks, the authors respect the fields E and B as fundamental quantities and understate D and H as auxiliary quantities as mentioned in this paper, and sometimes the roles of D and B in a vacuum are totally neglected.
Maxwell's Objection to Lorenz' Retarded Potentials
Kirk T. McDonald
- 01 Jan 2014
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that if a pair of equal and opposite charges move collinearly, then the retarded potential experienced by the charge in front has smaller magnitude than that experienced by charge in the rear because the former retarded distance is larger than the latter, hence there must be a net electrical force on the system, which accelerates it without limit.

Quantum field theories of extended objects
TL;DR: In this article, a general class of conformal and perhaps, eventually, non-conformal quantum field theories of (n-1)-dimensional extended objects in a d=2n dimensional conformal space-time manifold M were constructed.

A Uniqueness Theorem for Initial-Boundary Value Problems in Tellegen Medium
TL;DR: In this paper, the uniqueness of the initial boundary value problems for a Tellegen medium is studied, and sufficient conditions are given for the positive definiteness of the energy stored in such a medium due to the fields.
