Integrated Analysis Framework for Predicting Surface Runoff, Infiltration, and Slope Stability
J. Guan,C. M. Mok,A. T. Yeung +2 more
- 25 Mar 2014
TL;DR: In this article, an integrated analysis framework for prediction of surface runoff, infiltration, pore water pressure, and geomechanical stresses is presented, where a fully coupled groundwater-surface water interaction numerical model, HydroGeoSphere, is used to compute the transient surface runoff and subsurface pore-water pressure responses due to rainfall simultaneously without the need to make assumptions about the infiltration rate.

Adaptive Discontinuous Galerkin Method for Richards Equation
Jean-Baptiste Clément,Frederic Golay,Mehmet Ersoy,Damien Sous +3 more
- 19 Feb 2020
TL;DR: In this article, a Discontinuous Galerkin method together with an implicit scheme are used to approximate the solution of a nonlinear Richardson equation for time-dependant flows in partially saturated porous media.
Water movement in a finite layer : influence of gravity for constant water content at the surface
J.-Y. Parlange,Carlos Fuentes,L. D. Connell,U. Hornung,Randel Haverkamp,W. L. Hogarth,R. Peters,David E. Elrick +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the flow of water in a finite soil layer is analyzed with gravity, extending an earlier non-gravitational theory, and analytical approximations are obtained to predict the outflow at the lower surface when the potentials at the upper and lower surfaces are fixed.

A decision support system for field drainage management.
Luis A. Garcia,D. Gillham,Dave Patterson,B. Hanna,C. M. Burt,S. S. Anderson +5 more
- 30 Jun 2002
TL;DR: The Colorado State University Irrigation and Drainage model (CSUID) is a decision support system (DSS) that helps design and/or manage irrigation and drainage systems, which maintain crop productivity while controlling drainage return flows as discussed by the authors.
