TL;DR: Transcriptome sequencing of developmental gonads of black porgy showed that the highly expressed male-related genes at the male phase were significantly down-regulated to a substantial degree at the intersexual stage, and the female- related genes were distinctly up-regulated when the fish grows into a female adult, suggesting the potential roles of these genes in sex change of the black Porgy.

Gonadal Transcriptome Analysis of Sex-Related Genes in the Protandrous Yellowfin Seabream (Acanthopagrus latus).
TL;DR: De novo transcriptome sequencing analysis of the testis, ovotestis, and ovary is performed to identify sex-related genes in yellowfin seabream and provided an important molecular basis for elucidating the mechanisms underlying sexual transition and reproductional regulation in yellowfish.
Transcriptome Profiling and Expression Localization of Key Sex-Related Genes in a Socially-Controlled Hermaphroditic Clownfish, Amphiprion clarkii
TL;DR: This article performed a comparative transcriptomic analysis of gonads from females, males, and nonbreeders of Amphiprion clarkii, which constitute a complete social group, allowing them to investigate the molecular regulatory network under social control.
Might Gene Duplication and Neofunctionalization Contribute to the Sexual Lability Observed in Fish
TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the current understanding of sex change in fish, some of the factors that permit and constrain sex reversal, and posit that gene duplication and neofunctionalization contribute to the sexual lability observed in fish.
Transcriptional regulation of IAG by dsx and foxl-2 in mud crab (Scylla paramamosain).
Jiaqian Liao,Haifu Wan,Ziping Zhang,Yinshen Sheng,Xiwei Jia,Yili Wang +5 more
TL;DR: Dsx and foxl-2 transcription factors play opposite roles in regulating the expression of Sp-IAG, and the results showed that dsx could significantly promote the expression in crabs, while fox l-2 could inhibit its expression substantially.
