Abstract: Analisa o campo teorico-metodologico da ciencia da informacao indagando sobre seu estatuto de cientificidade e suas possibilidades de se constituir em uma area madura de conhecimento. Utiliza omo referencia o marco conceitual de Kuhn, resgatando o debate ocorrido nas ciencias sociais nas decadas de 70 e 80 que serve como elemento de mediacao para a abordagem da situacao vivenciada hoje pelos praticantes da ciencia da informacao.
