Abstract: This paper intends to present the practical aspects of doing qualitative data analysis. To this end, the paper was compiled to understand the practical aspects of doing qualitative data analysis with the ultimate purpose of identifying the commonly used approaches and techniques for data reduction, data display, and interpretation. Secondary source of data was used to collect and analyze the data needed to address the aforementioned objectives. Accordingly, books, articles, research reports, and different published materials were critically reviewed. The paper began by defining what qualitative data analysis is in accordance with its aim, basic principles and features. In addition, the paper presents qualitative data analysis and its philosophical foundations on the basis of ontological and epistemological stance. The paper further discuss the most commonly used approaches to analyze qualitatively collected data focusing on the background and philosophical basis of each method, unique characteristics of each method, goals and rationale of each method and data analysis process of each method. The paper has also disclosed ethical issues to be considered on the process of qualitative data analysis. The arguments on the paper have by and large proved to be very helpful for analyzing qualitatively collected data in the domain of humanities and social Science inquiries. Abstract: Current challenges facing educational systems worldwide have urged scholars to study the issues involved in the educational system. Economics of education is mainly concerned with economic impacts of educational stages. However, research has highlighted the role of social capital and how it is associated to education, as not only does education contribute to social capital but the presence and maintenance of social capital, in turn, promotes education. Focusing on the relationship between social capital and education, the current research, therefore, aims to describe and evaluate social capital and its components and functions, and to introduce the leading theorists in the field. The study then suggests that through building interactions within family and the society, individuals are able to enhance social capital in children’s education. Abstract: Educational Technology in broader terms mean to organize the knowledge for the achievement of purposes, or making tool/technique. In this fast changing world, the education plays a major role in empowering students to engage with challenges. The 21st century is rapidly changing one in every dimension of human (economically, socially, technologically). Due to the rapid changes complex problems are faced by educationists, policy makers, managers and teachers as well. Teachers of 21st century have to create students of 21st century with soft skills. The 21st century teachers need teaching skills content mastery as well as integrating teaching with technology. The teacher development programs are much important. The impact of good teaching is increasingly cited as a major determinant of economic well-being of society. A useful & productive system of teacher compensation function as an important lever for attracting well-qualified and highly motivated people to the teaching profession. The quality of teachers determines the quality of education and linked with nation’s development. With the emerging technologies, the teaching-learning is transforming from teacher-centered, lecture based to student-centered learning environment. Abstract: Education as an investment constitutes the largest enterprise in Nigeria. It is the principal instrument for academic progress, social mobilization, political survival and effective national development of any country. Investment in education is a necessary condition for promotion of economic growth and national development. Educational institutions including schools are established and managed essentially to achieve certain stated goals and objectives. There is no way the goal and objectives of an educational institution can be achieved without putting in place certain mechanisms towards ensuring the success of such institutions. In the school system, part of the integral pre-requisites to be put in place towards the actualization of the educational goal and objectives requires adequate provision of resources, maximum utilization and appropriate management of education resources to avoid wastages and improve the quality of the teaching - learning process in the academic environment. This paper therefore examined the concept of school administration and education resources, classification of education resources, relevance of education resources in the school system, challenges associated with the availability and utilization of resources in the school. Solutions were adduced on how to overcome the identified challenges so as to ensure effective and efficient management of available resources in the school system. Abstract: The collapse of public intra-city transport system paved way for the rise of motorcycles as means of public transportation in Nigeria. Popularly referred to as Okada, motorcycles are used for public transportation in most Nigerian towns and cities. In many places, they have displaced the use of motor cars for public intra-city transportation. It is patronised by the populace because of the advantages it has over taxis and buses. Its use for commercial purposes has impacted significantly on the economy and society. Writing from an historical perspective, this paper discusses the emergence of motorcycles as means of commercial transportation, looks at the nature of Okada business and its impact on the economy and society. The challenges associated with its use are discussed and recommendations are given on how to regulate the activities of the Okada riders to make them contribute more positively to the society.
