Abstract: RT-PCR technology is used to detect expression of five fibroin genes(Fib-H、Fib-L、Ser-2 long fragment、Ser-2 short fragment、Ser-3)from silkworm during the 4th-instar and 5th-instar. The result shows that the expression patterns of Fib-H、FIB-L、Ser-3 were similar. On the whole,the expression of the there genes during the 4th-instar was lower than that during 5th-instar. From the beginning of 5th-instar, the expression was gradually going up and reached the peak at maturing silkworm, since then rapidly declined. The expression patterns of the two transcripts of Ser-2 were similar. The expression of the two transcripts was relatively high in the 4th-instar, obviously dropped at molting stage and was gradually going up from the beginning of 5th-instar. The short fragment of Ser-2 and the long fragment separately began to decline from the 96h and 144 h of the 5th-instar, since then reached the valley at matured silkworm.

Abstract: The functional experiment on Antheraea pernyi chrysalis polypeptide solution was conducted.The results showed that the Antheraea pernyi chrysalis polypeptide solution can increase the weight of immune organs and peripheral blood WBC number of immunocompromised mouse,and obviously enhance the proliferation of spleen lymphocyte T and B and the production of IL-2.It revealed that Antheraea pernyi chrysalis polypeptide solution bears immune activeness and has the effect of anti-fatigue and immunity enhancement which has the potential to be used clinically to ease fatigue and immunocompromised symptom.

Abstract: To analyze and evaluate the nutrition composition of tussah larvae so as to provide evidence for developing new food resources,the nutrients concentration of tussah larvae were measured by National Standards and then these results were compared with that of other most common animal foods.The content of water in tussah larvae was 80.26%.The crude fat and protein occupied 17.93% and 62.72% of its dry weight respectively.The content of а-linolenic acid in fatty acids was 45.33%.The quality of amino acids was not very well.The trace elements were rich in tussah larvae.The Tussah larva is a new food resource with richer nutrition and has prospects for developing and application.

Abstract: The total RNA was extracted from Bombyx mori,Cecropin-D gene cDNA was obtained by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),and then gene of the mature peptide of Cecropin-D was amplified and cloned into pMD18-T vector.The sequence analysis showed that the cloned DNA had a length of 192bp,encoding a protein of 64 amino acids.After digested by both EcoRI and NotI. DNA fragment was linked with vector plasmid pPIC9K by T4 DNA ligase. The construction of expression vector pPIC9-CD may lead to obtaining large Cecropin D,thus providing basis for further research on developing new gene drug of antibacterial activity.

Abstract: Silkworm as a model organism of lepidoptera is an excellent model for the study of genetics and mutation.In this study,the silkworm eggs were treated with different high dosages of 60Co-γ radiation to explore the biological effects.The results show that the hatching rates of silkworm eggs reduced and the mortality increased significantly with the increasing of the radiation dose.The hatching rates of the silkworm eggs declined to zero at dosage 300 Gy.Its growth and development decreased gradually with the radiation dose increasing,and the lethal effect of 60Co-γ radiation on female silkworm is more serious than male.
