TL;DR: A review of the advances of the clinical research of anti-tumor application of ginsenoside Rg3 monomer preparation is made.
Abstract: Ginesenoside Rg3 is one of the active ingredients in ginseng,which has significant anti-tumor effects. It could induce apoptosis,inhibit proliferation,invasion and metastasis of tumor cells,and inhibit tumor angiogenesis,reverse multi-drug resistance,impact tumor gene signaling over expression,and enhance immunity of the patients. Shenyi capsule( ginsenoside Rg3 monomer preparation),an independently developed class A anti-cancer drug,has been widely used in clinical treatment of various malignant tumors. Here is to make a review of the advances of the clinical research of anti-tumor application of ginsenoside Rg3 monomer preparation.

Comparative Analysis on the Effect between Arthroscopic Fixation and ORIF on Low-energy Tibial Plateau Fractures

Abstract: Objective To compare the effect between arthroscopic fixation and ORIF on low-energy tibial plateau fractures. Methods A total of 218 patients with low-energy tibial plateau fractures underwent surgical treatment in Yan'an People's Hospital and Yulin First Hospital from Nov. 2011 to Nov. 2012 were selectd as research objects,and randomly divided into arthroscopy group and open reduction group,with 109 cases in each group. Patients in arthroscopy group received arthroscopic internal fixation treatment,while patients in open reduction group received open reduction and internal fixation treatment. Then surgery-related indicators were observed,and knee function were evaluated by American Knee Society Sore( AKSS),knee maximum extension angle and maximum flexion angle were measured by X-ray to reflect the joint mobility. Results The operation time and duration of hospital stay of the arthroscopy group were significantly shorter than the open reduction group[( 52 ± 11) min vs( 82 ± 22) min,( 5. 4 ± 1. 2) d vs( 9. 3 ± 3. 2) d,P 0. 01 ],while volumns of intraoperative bleeding and postoperative drainage were significantly less than the open reduction group[( 22 ± 7) m L vs( 63 ± 11) m L,( 14 ± 3) m L vs( 24 ± 5) m L,P 0. 05]; 8,16,24 weeks after surgery,the maximum angles of knee extension of the arthroscopy group were significantly higher than the open reduction group [(- 0. 3 ± 0. 1) ° vs(- 0. 2 ± 0. 1) °,(- 0. 6 ± 0. 2) ° vs(- 0. 3 ± 0. 1) °,(- 0. 6 ± 0. 2) ° vs(- 0. 4 ± 0. 1) °,P 0. 05] and the maximum angle of knee flexion were also significantly higher than the open reduction group[( 116 ± 5) ° vs( 102 ± 4) °,( 130 ± 8) ° vs( 112 ± 6) °,( 132 ±5) ° vs( 119 ± 6) °,P 0. 05]; 6,9,12 months after operation,AKSS knee function scores of the arthroscopy group were significantly higher than open reduction group[( 158 ± 20) scores vs( 127 ± 24) scores,( 168 ±17) scores vs( 137 ± 17) scores,( 187 ± 11) scores vs( 152 ± 17) scores,P 0. 05]. Conclusion Arthroscopic fixation can effectively reduce surgical trauma of patients with tibial plateau,optimize surgical targets,accelerate postoperative rehabilitation of the patients and improve the knee function and mobility.

Clinical Research of Curcumin in the Intervention Treatment for Pulmonary Fibrosis Induced by Paraquat Poisoning

Abstract: Objective To explore the intervention effect of curcumin on pulmonary fibrosis in patients with paraquat poisoning( PQP) by monitoring the changes of serum matrix metalloproteinase( MMP) 9,serum matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor( TIMP) 1,and lung imaging features of the patients. Methods A total of61 PQP patients admitted in Emergency Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University from May 2008 to Mar. 2010 were randomly divided into curcumin group( 31 cases) and non-curcumin group( 30 cases). Patients in both groups were treated by normal therapy,while patients in curcumin group orally took curcumin capsules 1000 mg /( kg · d),twice per day. Serum levels of MMP-9,TIMP-1 of the patients in both groups were detected by ELASA on the 1st,3th,5th,7th,11 thday after admission,and the degree of pulmonary fibrosis was evaluated by lung HRCT. Results There was no statistically significant difference in mortality rate between the two groups. However,the survival time of patients in curcumin group was longer than non-curcumin group,the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). The levels of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 of curcumin group were significantly lower than those of the non-curcumin group during the same period( P 0. 05). The degree of pulmonary fibrosis in patients of curcumin group reduced more significantly than of the non-curcumin group detected by lung HRCT. Conclusion MMP-9 and TIMP-1 may be involved in initiation and progression of pulmonary fibrosis. Serum levels of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 can be used as biochemical markers in clinical to evaluate the degree of pulmonary fibrosis and its prognosis combined with lung HRCT and other examinations. Early curcumin intervention for PQP patients can reduce the serum levels of MMP-9 and TIMP-1,reduce the degree of pulmonary fibrosis,suspend the progression of the disease,and prolong the survival time of the patients,but cannot reduce the mortality rate.

The functional vascular network formation is the most important to the success of the reconstruction and restoration. Many factors can affect this process,such as the property of scaffolds,angiogenic factors,the controlled release of angiogenic growth factors,the co-culture with scaffolds,etc. No matter in the aspect of scaffolds material selection,angiogenic factors or the co-culture with scaffolds,combined application has a significant advantage.

Abstract: Iodine disinfectants include all kinds of sterilization preparation made of iodine and iodine for the main germicidal ingredients. Iodine tincture and iodophors are commonly used in clinic at present. The iodophors are most widely used in the surgical operation and skin disinfection. There are many factors influencing the effectiveness of iodine disinfectants,mainly including effective iodine content,stability,temperature,season,p H,organic matter,solvents,etc. Here reviews the classification,mechanism and the efficacy influencing factors of iodine disinfectants,so as to systematically understand its germicidal properties.

Analysis of 9338 Cases of TORCH Detection in Pregnant Women in Xi'an Area

Abstract: Objective To understand the infection status of TORCH in pregnant women in Xi'an area.Methods Total of 9338 pregnant women in Shaanxi People' s Hospital for prenatal checkup between Jan.2011 and Dec. 2013 were included in the study. ELISA was used to detect Ig G and Ig M antibody of TORCH viruses. The infection rates of different years and seasons were compared. Results The Ig G antibody positive rates of toxoplasma( TOX),rubella vims( RV),comegalovines( CMV) and herpers lirus hominis( HSV)-Ⅱwere 2. 42%( 226 /9338),74. 14%( 6923 /9338),72. 32%( 6753 /9338),3. 44%( 321 /9338) respectively; the Ig M antibody positive rates were 0. 05%( 5 /9338),0. 10%( 9 /9338),0. 58%( 54 /9338),0. 05%( 5 /9338) respectively; the Ig G antibody positive rates of RV and CMV were much higher than TOX and HSV-Ⅱ( P 0. 05); the Ig M antibody positive rate of CMV was much higher than TOX,RV and HSV-Ⅱ( P 0. 05); the Ig G antibody positive rates of TOX,RV and CMV in 2013 were higher than in 2012( P 0. 05); the Ig G antibody positive rates of RV and CMV in summer and autumn were higher than in spring and winter( P 0. 05); the Ig G antibody positive rate of TOX in autumn was higher than in other reasons( P 0. 05); the Ig M antibody positive rates of TORCH had no significantly differences among yeas and reasons( P 0. 05). Conclusion In Xi'an,there were no pathogen outbreak in the recent two years,and there are no significantly differences among seasons. At present,there is no effective treatment of TORCH infection,so prevention is the predominant management.

Salvianolate is the salvianolic acid salts extracted from salvia whose main component is magnesium litho-spermate B,it is the most important effective active ingredient of salvia,and effects through a variety of ways,including antioxidant,anti-platelet aggregation,anti-thrombosis,and improving circulation,as well as promoteing endothelial cell migration and angiogenesis,it has been widely used in the treatment for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. In recent years,studies have also found that in addition to the treatment for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases,it also has a protective effect on other internal organs.

The Clinical Efficacy and Prognosis of Surgical Timing for Ruptured Intracranial Aneurysms

Abstract: Objective To investigate the correlation between surgical timing and clinical prognosis in patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms.Methods The retrospective analysis was conducted and reported based on the clinical data of 198 patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms from Hubei Medical Affiliated Dongfeng Hospital during Jun.2007 and Jun.2012,who were categorized into two groups according to the different surgery timing.The treatment group(n = 100) were given early surgical treatment(surgery from late onset time ≤3 d),the control group(n = 98) were given the conservative symptomatic treatment,and then give the mid-term surgery(surgery from the last incidence time 4 d).The modified rankin scale MRS scores,the incidence of preoperative rebleeding,hydrocephalus,cerebral angiospasm and survival were analyzed in the two groups.Results The MRS scores of between the two groups were statistically significant(U = 8.403,P = 0.015),the good prognosis rate of the treatment group was significantly higher.The incidence of complications such as postoperative rebleeding,hydrocephalus,cerebral vasospasm compared between the two groups did not show statistically significant difference(P 0.05).Patients were followed up for 100 days,and the survival rates tested by log-rank test of the two groups showed no statistically significant difference(χ2= 0.822,P = 0.663).Conclusion The early surgery may improve the prognosis of patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms while the late surgery may increase the risk of rebleeding,though larger sample quantity is needed to make the conclusion that it is good for the prognosis and recovery.

Abstract: Pulmonary arteriovenous fistula( PAVF) is a rare pulmonary vascular disease caused by arteriovenous shunt,that brings the pulmonary arterial blood directly into a vein without passing through pulmonary alveoli,its incidence rate is low,if not treated timely and effectively,the fatality rate can be high. A clear diagnosis can be used to guide the clinical treatment,and improve the therapeutic effect. The diagnosis mainly depends on imaging examination,including ultrasound,chest X-ray,digital subtraction angiography( DSA),CT and magnetic resonance imaging( MRI). DSA is the gold standard for diagnosis of PAVF,application value of CT has been recognized,while ultrasound and MRI examination have not yet been confirmed to cause additional damage to the examinees.
