Abstract: A chronological listing of a half-century's research on the impact of library media programs on student achievement. A sampling of library research and argument demonstrating that collaboration is essential in maximizing the positive impact of library media programs on student achievement and school success and some material on the nature of workplace collaboration. A collection of articles demonstrating the role administrators have to play that might be useful in encouraging administrative commitment. This is a small and non-specific collection of websites that could be of substantial use in gathering additional information when crafting a persuasive presentation. A sampler's collection of websites, prepared presentations, and written material that can be used in efforts to convince boards of education, faculty, parent groups, and business partners that the library is not only a good investment but a necessary one.
