TL;DR: A new ad-hoc technique to select the proper seed and the number of the random test patterns to be generated is presented and it is shown that this scheme produces the same fault coverage with lesser number ofrandom test patterns than an arbitrary seed.
Abstract: A new ad-hoc technique to select the proper seed and the number of the random test patterns to be generated is presented. This technique uses an offline algorithm to search and classify the random patterns based on the deterministic test patterns generated by the automatic test pattern generator (ATPG). The seed activated linear feedback shift register (LFSR) generates exhaustive test patterns which are applied on any design under test (DUT). The responses are received at the output of the scan chains in the DUT and they are compressed to produce a signature. It is shown that this scheme produces the same fault coverage with lesser number of random test patterns than an arbitrary seed. Also, this technique helps to estimate the number of BIST test patterns to be generated to achieve specific fault coverage. Results on six ISCAS-89 designs with the help of Cadence Encounter true time 13.1 ATPG is shown.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed the common defects of concrete flat roof construction in institutions of higher education buildings in equatorial climates and suggested the modes of failure and proposed modification to designers and those responsible for the maintenance of flat-roofed buildings.
Abstract: In recent year, many building in Malaysia have designed for a concrete flat roof rather than traditional pitched roof There are also buildings that incorporate design slope roofs and flat roofs that keep facility equipment in the flat roof area However due to hot and humid condition throughout the year in equatorial climate, surface-related defects, damage to the waterproofing membrane and cracks in the roof parapet wall are the common defects of roof construction that require frequent maintenance This paper seeks to review the common defects of concrete flat roof construction in institutions of higher education buildings in equatorial climates The research reported was carried out by the building inspection and analysis of 23 case study buildings Surface profile and the slope of the roof, rainwater drainage, parapet wall and the waterproofing membrane inspected and analyzed The findings of the inspection indicated that the concrete flat roof slope should be appropriate to the size of a roof and parapet wall dislocation failure is dependent on whether the ends are hinged or fixed Failure usually leads to tearing of the waterproofing membrane Proper surface workmanship, modification to the roof parapet wall design and to the selection of construction materials is suggested The modes of failure and proposed modification will be of interest to designers and those responsible for the maintenance of flat-roofed buildings in equatorial climates

TL;DR: Results show that stego audio signal is perceptually indistinguishable from the cover audio signal and is robust against common signal processing attacks such as cropping, filtering, noise addition, resampling etc.
Abstract: Information security is one of the main factors to be considered when internet is used for secret information transmission. Secret data transmitted over the network must be protected from malicious or conspicuous users. Steganography is one of the foremost and fast developing techniques currently used in network to send the secret data without being distracted and which is a better technique than the earlier commonly used cryptography. In steganography a carrier signal is used for the secure transmission of secret information. The secret information is concealed in the carrier and transmitted. Audio steganography uses audio signals to hide the secret information. In the proposed audio steganography technique, cover audio file is transformed from time domain to wavelet domain using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), leading to secure data hiding. Text message is encrypted using dynamic encryption algorithm. Cipher text is then hidden in wavelet coefficients of cover audio signal. Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and Squared Pearson Correlation Coefficient (SPCC) values are computed to judge the quality of the stego audio signal. Results show that stego audio signal is perceptually indistinguishable from the cover audio signal. Stego audio signal is robust against common signal processing attacks such as cropping, filtering, noise addition, resampling etc. Proposed method provides secure and least error data extraction.

TL;DR: The automation process of an automatic car parking system is designed using a fully functional ladder logic based LOGO!12/24 RC, which is a small programmable logic controller (PLC) which is cost effective and useful to make solutions to car parking space problems in city areas.
Abstract: Well-organized vehicle parking can assist drivers gratifying by protecting car energy as well as time consuming. In this paper, the automation process of an automatic car parking system is designed using a fully functional ladder logic based LOGO!12/24 RC, which is a small programmable logic controller (PLC). Infrared sensor (IR) electronic sensors were installed at the entrance and departure gates to sense the car those are waiting for either entry or exit. After that it gives the input signals to PLC to count the number of vehicles entering and leaving the park respectively. The developed system automatically can monitor and restrict the vehicles inside the parking space. The number of cars available in the park will be the difference of the number of vehicles entering and the number of vehicles leaving. When a car approaches to the entry gate, PLC will decide whether any space is available or not. If no space is available, the PLC will then send signal to entry gate to keep the gate closed and turn on the indication “Car Park Full”. If there is space in the park, the entry gate will open to allow the car to enter the park. Similarly, at the time of exit, the PLC will send signal to the exit gate to open and allow the car to leave the park after paid the parking payment. All these activities make the car parking system completely automatic. The development of this system is cost effective and useful to make solutions to car parking space problems in city areas.

TL;DR: Results indicate that the proposed hardware and algorithm could replace the manually counted, uncomfortable nasal air flow sensor or chest band often used in hospitals.
Abstract: Breathing rate (BR) is highly predictive of health deterioration among vital signs measured in acutely ill hospital patients. This study proposes a single-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) acquisition system and a BR estimation algorithm from ECG. The signal quality index algorithm was validated quantitatively by using the PhysioNet/ Computing in Cardiology Challenge 2011 training data set. The BR extraction algorithm was validated using 40 MIT Physionet Multiparameter Intelligent Monitoring in Intensive Care II (MIMIC-II) data set. The estimated BR showed a mean absolute error (MAE) of 1.4 compared with the reference BR. Using the proposed acquisition system, 20 ECGs of healthy subjects were recorded, and the estimated BR with MAE of 0.7 bpm was obtained. Results indicate that the proposed hardware and algorithm could replace the manually counted, uncomfortable nasal air flow sensor or chest band often used in hospitals.
