Abstract: Measurement of hydrophobic of insulator surfaces is a main instrument to evaluate their performance.This paper introduces image processing technology into it,and information of the edge is obtained through directional filtering,adaptive filtering and automatic entropic threshold region-based partition,and extract feature of the image,finally,use k-nearest neighbor algorithm to confirm the level of hydrophobic.Examined by the instance on the spot,this improvement can overcome subjectivity of traditional spray method,and its results is satisfactory.

Abstract: Over the years,XLPE cable has been employed in a broad range of applications in electrical transmission and distribution lines.The reliability of power system is considered as one remarkably depending upon the safe use of such cables.It is pointed out that periodic test such as voltage withstand test can't match the increasing demand of system stability,and on-line monitoring technique is going to be put forward.In this paper,a review on on-line monitoring methods for high voltage XLPE cable was conducted by taking previous works into consideration.Fundamentals for the very issues monitored were stated,of which both the advantages and disadvantages were discussed.

Abstract: Polyimide/nano-TiO 2 composites is prepared by using in-site dispersion polymerization,the dispersion status of nano-TiO 2 was observed by transmission electron microscope(TEM).On this basis,effects of nano-TiO 2 loading on dielectric properties of the composites were studied.The results show that the corona-resistant lifetime of PI with nano-TiO 2 loading of15%is about40timeslonger than pure PI film at the electrical stress of12kV/mm.But the mass resistivity and the breakdown strength of nano-TiO 2 filled polyimide film are deteriorated with nano-TiO 2 loading,and the relative dielectric constant and the dissipation factor are increased with nano-TiO 2 loading.
