Abstract: Evaluating processes with the aid of key performance indicators continues to gain acceptance as an integral element of corporate controlling as well as process management. This article will first describe the tasks associated with process controlling, which will then be used as a basis for defining the objectives of a process-oriented key performance indicator management system. In particular, we will explain how the description of key performance indicators can be integrated in general process modelling. When KPI management has been assigned its proper place in the process management loop, roles that are needed to implement it in real terms will be defined.

Abstract: Computer-generated user interfaces, systems and methods are provided for use in a process implementation environment. In one exemplary embodiment, the user interface may comprise of a first area for displaying a hierarchical structure, the hierarchical structure defining of one or more processes and being navigated by a user to select among the one or more processes. The user interface may also comprise of a second area for displaying one or more actions, wherein the actions are user-selectable and are displayed in the second area based on the process selected by the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are graphically developing rules for transforming models between different description notations. The transformation rules may be used to transform a model in a source description notation to a new model in a target description notation. In one embodiment, graphical constructs are provided including symbols in the source description notation and the target description notation. The constructs for the source description notation are arranged in a source pattern, and the constructs for the target description notation are arranged in a target pattern, according to user instructions. The source and target patterns are sent to a transformation engine and subsequently accessed to provide at least one transformation rule utilized by the transformation engine.

Abstract: Dem Markt fur mobile Kommunikation werden hohe Wachstumsraten fur die kommenden Jahre vorausgesagt. Der Markt fur mobile Endgerate wird derzeit vor allem von der Verbreitung internetfahiger Mobiltelefone vorangetrieben. Bis zum Jahr 2003 wird beispielsweise erwartet, dass ein Drittel der europaischen Bevolkerung ein WAP-fahiges Handy besitzt und benutzt. Dieses erlaubt dann den Zugang zu beliebigen Anwendungen bzw. Diensten im Netz. Laut Durlacher Research wird die Zahl der Mobilfunkteilnehmer in Westeuropa von fast 90 Millionen Ende 1998 auf uber 237 Millionen Ende 2003 ansteigen (vgl. Muller-Veerse 1999) Im Folgenden werden die Mobile Value Chain und mobile Technologien naher betrachtet.
