TL;DR: Outcrops in Valles Marineris, Margaritifer Sinus, and Terra Meridiani show evidence for kieserite, gypsum, and polyhydrated sulfates, which constitute direct records of the past aqueous activity on Mars.
Abstract: The OMEGA/Mars Express hyperspectral imager identified hydrated sulfates on light-toned layered terrains on Mars. Outcrops in Valles Marineris, Margaritifer Sinus, and Terra Meridiani show evidence for kieserite, gypsum, and polyhydrated sulfates. This identification has its basis in vibrational absorptions between 1.3 and 2.5 micrometers. These minerals constitute direct records of the past aqueous activity on Mars.

Abstract: A storage box for a wafer shipping box is provided. The storage box includes a first housing member, a first fastening element, a second housing member and a second fastening element. The first housing member is used for containing a first portion of the wafer shipping box, wherein the first fastening element is mounted on the first housing member. The second housing member is used for containing the second portion of the wafer shipping box, wherein the second fastening element is mounted on the second housing member. A closed space is formed by the first housing member and the second housing member for containing the wafer shipping box. A first fastening device is formed by engaging the first fastening element and the second fastening element for positioning and securing the wafer shipping box in the closed space.
TL;DR: In this paper, a method of image processing proposed is based on satellite data fusions by multidated approaches (11 images over 15 years), multi-scale (from local to regional) and multispectral (only one image resultant of 41 georeferenced channels) ; the results have been ratified by field work.
Abstract: The experimentation takes place in the Maya Biosphere Reserve , in the heart of the Peten region in Guatemala. In this natural area intermingled rivers and lakes, the forest which was in balance with environmental conditions dominated all the space. However, the landscape has just suffered a real transformation for the last 15 years. Since 1987, populating has settle up regularly by succesive waves. They have appropriated, cleared and changed the native forest in pasture and milpa (field of corn). This process of systematic deforestation by large fires, permits the creation of new rural societies, a new area of distinctly diverse uses. But the sudden and non control setting up of these populations threaten environment conditions. A conflict for the land has been appeared around and inside of the Maya Biosphere Reserve , whitch is itself threatened. The State of Guatemala, as the NGO need a local and regional perception. And yet, faced with this speedy phenomenon non finished, the lack of updated cartographic data in a area little known and badly statistical informed, high resolution remote sensing becomes an irreplaceable tool to understand such radical transformations. To understand spatio temporal process of this new rural pioneer front, to make a dynamic diagnosis, to date, to follow, to map, to update environmental and statistical data, the method of image processing proposed is based on satellite data fusions--Landsat-TM and Spot--by multidated approaches (11 images over 15 years), multi-scale (from local to regional) and multispectral (only one image resultant of 41 georeferenced channels) ; the results have been ratified by field work.

Abstract: A high-resolution pollen study (136 samples) has been performed on the KTR05 core (738 cm long) located in the modern Grand Rhone prodelta. The objectives were (1) to evaluate the palynological and sedimentological record quality of a prodelta in comparison with fluvial inputs (2) and to quantify lost sediment (resuspensions) in this area. The core covers more than the last thirty years. By comparison with the modern pollen rain both in the Rhone delta and in the mid-drainage basin (Lyon), a seasonal forcing in pollen deposition has been demonstrated. Monthly pollen successions can be evidenced in a well preserved sequence, providing an estimate of the true sedimentation rate (60 cm.yr−1). Importance of disturbed or incomplete sequences suggests that most of the sediment first deposited in the prodelta (around ⅔) has been resuspended. Sedimentological and palynological data record not only seasonal but fluvial impact. The progressive shift of the prodelta has been evidenced firstly with sedimento...
