TL;DR: Precocene and analogs added to the meal of 4th instar larvae of Rhodnius prolixus were tested as antifeedants and ATP, a phagostimulant, did not reverse the antifeingant action of precocene II.
Abstract: Precocene and analogs added to the meal of 4th instar larvae ofRhodnius prolixus were tested as antifeedants. While precocene II had a strong antifeedant effect (ED50=48 μg/ml), the other compounds showed no drastic inhibition of feeding (ED50>140 μg/ml). ATP, a phagostimulant, did not reverse the antifeedant action of precocene II. The mechanism of feeding inhibition is discussed.

TL;DR: The representation of the visual field in the upper layers of the opossum's superior colliculus was studied by recording the response of multi-units to visual stimulation and revealed that the rostral region contains a representation of 40 ° of the ipsilateral field.
Abstract: The representation of the visual field in the upper layers of the opossum's superior colliculus was studied by recording the response of multi-units to visual stimulation. Overall, the visual topography is similar to that of other non-primate mammals. Along the horizontal meridian the magnification factor decreases assymetrically about the vertical meridian, falling more abruptly in the region of the representation of the ipsilateral hemifield. The colliculus may be divided into three parts on the basis of the projections from the retina: a rostral region that does not receive any ipsilateral retinal afferents, a region that receives binocular retinal projections and a monocular region that receives only contralateral retinal input. Electrophysiological recording revealed that the rostral region contains a representation of 40 ° of the ipsilateral field. The representation of the vertical meridian forms the border between the rostral region and the binocular region and the representation of the 40–45 ° longitude meridian forms the border between the binocular and monocular regions.

Abstract: Based on experimental results from CESR and from SLAC’s crystal ball, charmonium (cc) and upsilon (bb) systems are analysed, by using a phenomenological confinement approach We show that the potentialKr1/2 — (4/3)αs/r +C describes adequately the spectroscopy of the two families mantaining the 4414 GeV state as charmonium’s 43S1 The dependence of the potential on flavour is also discussed

TL;DR: In this article, colorimetric, titrimetric and AAS determinations in the waters of the river Sarapui presented extreme deficiency of dissolved oxygen along the whole course, critical concentrations of Cl−, NH+ 4, and NO− 2, locally concentrated values of CN−, sharp variations in temperature (max. 129 C) and pH (max 4 units).
Abstract: Colorimetric, titrimetric and AAS determinations in the waters of the river Sarapui presented extreme deficiency of dissolved oxygen along the whole course, critical concentrations of Cl−, NH+ 4, and NO− 2, locally concentrated values of CN−, sharp variations in temperature (max. 129 C) and pH (max. 4 units). Na, Mg, K and Ca concentrations are higher than the normal fluvial means. Cr is 40 times higher than the MPV (Max. Permited Value). Cu, Zn and Hg are within permited levels. Mn is locally high.Co, Ni, Cd and Pb were not detected. The chemical species exhibit typical variations according to natural and anthropogenic influences, from the headwaters to the estuarine zone.
