Band-gap modulations of armchair silicene nanoribbons by transverse electric fields
TL;DR: In this paper, the structure and electronic properties of the silicene nanoribbon with armchair edge (ASiNR) were studied under external transverse electronic fields.

Metallic B2C3P Monolayer as Li-Ion Battery Materials: A First-Principles Study
TL;DR: Using a global structure prediction method together with first-principles calculations, a free-standing two-dimensional B2C3P monolayer with honeycomb structure was identified in this paper .
Phase transition and thermodynamic properties of YAg alloy from first-principles calculations
TL;DR: In this article, the particle swarm optimization algorithm on crystal structure prediction was used to predict a first-order phase transition from CsCl phase to Fd-3m phase at about 25 GPa with a volume collapse of 7.47%.

Investigation on carbon nanoparticle (CNP)-polymer sensors for fatigue monitoring of fiber-reinforced composites
TL;DR: In this paper , a combined numerical-analytical approach with considering the stiffness degradation of composite is proposed to calculate the resistance variations with the cyclic loads, and the electro-mechanical behavior of the sensor can be simulated through the finite element analysis of a random representative volume element model and the equivalent resistance calculation of microcircuit.

A Novel Two-Dimensional ZnSiP2 Monolayer as an Anode Material for K-Ion Batteries and NO2 Gas Sensing
TL;DR: ZnSiP2 has an indirect band gap of 1.79 eV and exhibits an anisotropic character mechanically as mentioned in this paper , which is a two-dimensional semiconductor, which was found to be stable by phonon, molecular-dynamic, and elastic-moduli simulations.
