Metallic sputtering growth of crystalline titanium oxide films on unheated glass substrate using inductively coupled plasma assisted direct current magnetron sputtering
TL;DR: In this article, an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) assisted direct current (dc) magnetron sputtering system was used for depositing titanium oxide (TiO) films on unheated glass substrates.

Cooling Curve Analysis of Heat Treating Oils and Correlation With Hardness and Microstructure of a Low Carbon Steel
TL;DR: In this paper, the cooling properties of quenching oils are investigated with respect to their use time and cooling properties are compared with those of other quench oils, and the effect of their cooling rate differences on the hardness and microstructure of a low carbon steel was determined.
Experimental Study of the Microstructure and Micromechanical Properties of Laser Cladded Ni-based Amorphous Composite Coatings
TL;DR: In this article, an amorphous composite coating was successfully fabricated on AISI 1045 steel substrate by using laser cladding process with coaxial powder feeding equipment, and the microstructure and phase distribution of the coating were investigated by using x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscope.

Enhanced Strength of 304 SS-Ti6Al4V Laser-Welded Joints Containing Composite Interlayers
Seyed Reza Elmi Hosseini,Kai Feng,Pulin Nie,Ke Zhang,Jian Huang,Zhuguo Li,Hiroyuki Kokawa,Baochao Guo,Song Xue +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the microstructural characterization of the fracture propagation edge during laser beam welding of Ti6Al4V and 304 stainless steel using Cu, V, and Ni interlayers as a single Cu interlayer and composite interlayer structures with different interlayer thicknesses was investigated.

The characteristics and reduction of porosity in high-power laser welds of thick AISI 304 plate
Junhao Sun,Pulin Nie,Fenggui Lu,Jian Huang,Kai Feng,Zhuguo Li,Baochao Guo,En Jiang,Wang Zhang +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the porosity produced in the 304 stainless steel laser welds was investigated and the mechanism of the elimination of porosity was revealed by using N2 rather than Ar or He shielding gases.
