TL;DR: In this article , Friction stir processing was conducted on the CoCrFeMnNi alloy fabricated via laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) to modify the surface microstructure, during which the evolution of grain structures, dislocation structures, and texture as well as the dynamic recrystallization (DRX) mechanism were investigated.

Effect of Al 2 Gd on microstructure and properties of laser clad Mg–Al–Gd coatings
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of Gd addition on the microstructures and properties of magnesium coatings were investigated and the results indicated that the gadolinium (Gd) addition led to the formation of a cubic Al2Gd phase as well as suppressed the precipitation of eutectic Mg17Al12 phase.

Influence of residual stress on the cracking of the laser-cladded high-hardness coating
TL;DR: In this paper , a high-hardness Fe-C-W-Nb-B coating was prepared on 42CrMo substrate by laser cladding, and the results showed that all coatings had microstructure consisting of a martensite matrix and reinforcements.

Mechanism of Zn Coating on the Wettability, Spreadability, and Microstructure of Al/Steel with the Laser Welding-Brazing Method
TL;DR: In this paper, the role of Zn coating during the laser welding-brazing process of Al/steel was analyzed through a high-speed video camera, and the formation of the brazing interface and Zn-rich zones was revealed based on the adsorption values of Al-Si/Fe and Al-Zn/Fe systems.
