In this paper, the analysis of recent advances in genetic algorithms is discussed. The genetic algorithms of great interest in research community are selected for analysis. This review will help the new and demanding researchers to provide the wider vision of genetic algorithms. The well-known algorithms and their implementation are presented with their pros and cons. The genetic operators and their usages are discussed with the aim of facilitating new researchers. The different research domains involved in genetic algorithms are covered. The future research directions in the area of genetic operators, fitness function and hybrid algorithms are discussed. This structured review will be helpful for research and graduate teaching.

Transportation network analysis

The efficiency of a transport system depends on several elements, such as available technology, governmental policies, the planning process, and control strategies. Indeed, the interaction between these elements is quite complex, leading to intractable decision making problems. The planning process and real-time control strategies have been widely studied in recent years, and there are several practical implementations with promising results. In this paper, we review the literature on Transit Network Planning problems and real-time control strategies suitable to bus transport systems. Our goal is to present a comprehensive review, emphasizing recent studies as well as works not addressed in previous reviews.

The interdependency of the setup and hold constraints and clock-to-q (c2q) delay for flip-flops (FF) has been studied in static timing analysis (STA) to facilitate timing closure and improve circuit performance. However circuits operating in near-threshold voltage (NTV) region pose severe challenge to the interdependent timing modelling due to its significant nonlinear relation and much wider constraint range compared with super-threshold voltage (STV) region. In this paper an accurate and efficient modelling approach is proposed by employing artificial neuron network (ANN) to characterize the interdependency among the setup time hold time and c2q delay of FF in wide voltage region. Experimental results show the prediction errors of c2q delay with varied setup and hold constraints are lower than 2.1% and 1.8% in NTV and STV regions with 3.51x and 1.09x accuracy improvement compared with the prior work. Besides the modelling efficiency is validated by 1.41 x/1.10x simulation cost reduction and 21.08x/4.14x library storage saving for NTV/STV domain with accuracy advantage.

Accurate and Efficient Interdependent Timing Model for Flip-Flop in Wide Voltage Region

The problem of the effective prediction for large-scale spatio-temporal traffic data has long haunted researchers in the field of intelligent transportation. Limited by the quantity of data, citywide traffic state prediction was seldom achieved. Hence the complex urban transportation system of an entire city cannot be truly understood. Thanks to the efforts of organizations like IARAI, the massive open data provided by them has made the research possible. In our 2020 Competition solution, we further design multiple variants based on HR-NET and UNet. Through feature engineering, the hand-crafted features are input into the model in a form of channels. It is worth noting that, to learn the inherent attributes of geographical locations, we proposed a novel method called geo-embedding, which contributes to significant improvement in the accuracy of the model. In addition, we explored the influence of the selection of activation functions and optimizers, as well as tricks during model training on the model performance. In terms of prediction accuracy, our solution has won 2nd place in NeurIPS 2020, Traffic4cast Challenge.

The invention discloses a transportation mode determination method based on triangulation location data of a mobile phone. A mobile phone user transportation chain is constructed based on mobile phonetriangulation location data; on the basis of a penalty factor, the obtained mobile phone user transportation chain data are cleaned to remove noise data, and an all-day mobile phone user transportation chain is reconstructed; according to the all-day mobile phone user transportation chain, time-dimension fine granularity division is carried out to form a plurality of sub transportation periods, total transportation distances and straight transportation distances of all sub transportation periods are calculated respectively, and non-linear coefficients of all sub transportation periods are obtained; multi-mode transportation modes of the sub transportation period of the mobile phone user are identified; and on the basis of the identified multi-mode transportation mode proportion of the subtransportation period of the mobile phone user, a main transportation mode of the all-day transportation period is identified. According to the invention, the transportation mode of the individual user can be obtained based on the on-aggregation level, so that the complexity of the model is reduced and the prediction accuracy is improved.

Transportation mode determination method based on triangular positioning data of mobile phone

In order to provide theoretical basis for the signal timing plan at Hook-turn intersection, motor vehicle delay model for the straight lane was developed. Then with consideration of two conditions that left-turning vehicles in the waiting area of the intersection spilled over and didn't spill over,the expectation delay model of the motor vehicles for the lane shared by straight,left-turning and right-turning motor vehicles was established.The impact of left-turning vehicles in the waiting area on other traffic flows in the same phase was studied and the calibration method for effectively utilized green time was established.With minimum average motor vehicle delay as the object,and cycle length and green time as variables,the optimization method for signal timing plan was developed.The traffic data of an actual intersection wereemployed to validate the method.Two improved plans were developed based on the Hook-turn method.Then the motor vehicle delay indexes of the two improved plans and current plan were collected in VISSIM and the indexes of the three plans were compared for analysis.The results show that the Hook-turn method can decrease the average delay of motor vehicles in the straight lane and all motor vehicles at the intersection under the optimal signal timing plans.The benefit of Hook turn is significant when the volume of left-turning motor vehicles is small.

Signal control scheme optimization method for intersection with Hook-turn based on motor vehicle delay

As urban populations grow, there is a growing need for efficient and sustainable modes, such as bicycling. The shortage of bicycle demand data is a barrier to design, planning, and research efforts in bicycle transportation before. In July 2013, the New York City implements the bike-sharing system, Citi Bike, and makes their data available for analysis. Data used in this study includes the information about active stations, average bicycles available, total annual membership, maintenance issues, events of vandalism and calls and emails to system center. Through statistic description, partial correlation analysis and principle component analysis, final variables are obtained. Finally, a Poisson regression model was adopted for the analysis. The analysis results are useful for understanding the influential factors including temperatures and weathers, which reflected by seasons generally, and supplements associated with rules or policy of bike-sharing system. In addition, the inferential results of these models provide guidance on future planning of station and bike supplement.
