Comparative genomic and transcriptomic analyses uncover the molecular basis of high nitrogen use efficiency in the wheat cultivar Kenong 9204.
Xiaoli Shi,Fa Cui,Xinyin Han,Yilin He,Long Zhao,Na Zhang,Haidong Zhu,Zhexin Liu,Bin Ma,Shusong Zheng,Wei Zhang,Jiajia Liu,Xiaoli Fan,Yaoqi Si,Shuiquan Tian,Jianqing Niu,Huilan Wu,Xuemei Liu,Zhuo Chen,Deyuan Meng,Hao Zhang,Xiaoyan Wang,Liqiang Song,Lijing Sun,Jie Han,Hui Zhao,Jun Ji,Zhiguo Wang,Xiaoyu He,Ruilin Li,Xuebin Chi,Chengzhi Liang,Beifang Niu,Jun Xiao,Junming Li,Hong-Qing Ling +35 more
TL;DR: Zhang et al. as discussed by the authors found that the high-affinity nitrate transporter gene family had expanded in Triticeae and subsequent functional differentiation endowed the expanded family members with saline inducibility, providing a genetic basis for improving the adaptation of wheat to nitrogen deficiency in various habitats.

Genetic analysis and molecular markers associated with multi-gynoecia (Mg) gene in Trigrain whea
TL;DR: The inheritance of the three grains trait is studied and simple sequence repeats (SSR) markers linked to the Mg gene are identified and confirmed that a single dominant gene controlled the three grain trait.
A wheat–Thinopyrum ponticum–rye trigeneric germplasm line with resistance to powdery mildew and stripe rust
TL;DR: An individual plant, line 0-123-1-1 with the chromosome number 2n = 42 was obtained in the BC3F4 progeny of a cross between a wheat 1BL and wheat–Thinopyrum ponticum partial amphiploid BE-1, making the line a good germplasm for breeding in wheat.

Wheat high-low molecular weight glutenin subunit separating analytical method
Ji Jun,Dong-Cheng Liu,Zhiguo Wang,Junming Li,Ai-Min Zhang +4 more
- 25 Oct 2006
TL;DR: In this paper, a method for separating the high and low molecular weight glutenin subunit that adds isopropyl alcohol to remove the alcohol soluble protein, adds NaI to remove globulin, adds water to remove albumin, adds DDT, VP and mercaptoethanol to break the combination of disulfide bond is presented.

Identification of new T1BL.1RS translocation lines derived from wheat ( Triticum aestivum L. cultivar “Xiaoyan No. 6”) and rye hybridization
TL;DR: Two new T1BL.1RS translocation lines derived from cross between common wheat and rye cultivar “Xiaoyan No. 6” and rye, developed and identified by using of molecular markers and cytogenetical methods, GISH and FISH, demonstrated the existence of chromosome arm 1BL in the two lines.
