Identification of the disturbance and trajectory types in mining areas using multitemporal remote sensing images.
TL;DR: An automated method for identifying mining disturbances, and for characterizing recovery of vegetative cover on disturbed areas using multitemporal Landsat imagery, which identified mining disturbances with 97% accuracy, the disturbance year, trajectory type, and disturbance-recovery trajectory type with 90% accuracy.

Quantitative evaluation of ecological cumulative effect in mining area using a pixel-based time series model of ecosystem service value
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors proposed a pixel-based time series model of ecosystem service value (ESV) to quantify the ECE in mining area and reveal its spatial distribution, heterogeneity and dynamic process.

Identification of successional trajectory over 30 Years and evaluation of reclamation effect in coal waste dumps of surface coal mine
TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis method that combines machine learning method with traditional statistical analysis method by using the multi-temporal Landsat images and surveying data was proposed to ascertain the succession trajectory types of revegetation in the surface mining area and evaluate whether the revegetations in 3 coal-waste-dump sites with different reclamation methods were restored to the pre-disturbance status.

A method of identifying mining disturbance in arid or semi-arid steppe using inter-annual Landsat images-a case study in north-eastern China
TL;DR: In this article, a lot of public attention has been paid on mining issues and the need for the detection of mining dis-fracture, which affects the environmental quality, local ecology and human populations.

A denoising method for inter-annual NDVI time series derived from Landsat images
TL;DR: In this paper, the inter-annual Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) time series derived from Landsat (INSL) has been applied to many fields.
